Eight year old Harmony Leonard officially rung the bell at Childrens' Hospital at Palmetto Richland last month, marking the end of chemotherapy.

After battling a cancerous brain tumor for more than a year, Harmony is now on the road to being cancer free.

For several months, Harmony Leanord experienced intense headaches and blurred vision. Her Mom, Tycia Butler, said after multiple unsuccessful doctor visits she got the worse news a parent could imagine.

On February 6th, doctors found a cancerous tumor on Harmony's brain. She underwent brain surgery just six days later on February 12th, 2019 and the tumor was removed successfully.

On June 25, 2020 Harmony officially ended chemotherapy.

"To see her overcome with so much resilience, my spirit was overjoyed," said Tycia Butler, Harmony's mother.

"It has been a journey for her... and I am just looking forward to progression."

Harmony is looking forward to getting back to gymnastics and dance , two things her weekly hospital visits and monthly stays did not allow.

Moving forward she has scans every year and finally in year five, she will be considered cured.
