Thousands of TSB customers have been left unable to view or access their payments due to a mobile and internet banking glitch.

The outage seems to have started just before 9am on Friday, according to the Downdetector site.

TSB's own service status page said the its app and mobile banking services are currently "unavailable".

"We’re aware that some customers are reporting problems logging in to internet banking and the mobile app," it reads.

"We’re currently looking into this and will provide an update as soon as possible."

But the timing has left many strugling.

Andy Fleet tweeted: "@TSB website and app down. Useful when I need to pay staff wages today!"

Gavin Conlan added: "@tsb app down again? Honestly think it’s time to change banks. Pay day and I can’t transfer money or check my account. It’s becoming a regular thing now, absolute joke."

Kirstie Evans added: "@TSB is that the app down again ! Pay day trying g to pay bills and can’t this is actually getting ridiculous please can you advise when it will be up and running."

TSB customers can still make payments through telephone banking or online - although the bank said it anticipates "increased call waiting times" on its service status page.

Branch-based banking is also available - to an extent.

"We’re following the government’s guidelines on social distancing. Please do not visit one of our branches unless absolutely necessary," TSB's service status page reads.
