Harry Wilson has explained why he wore a Liverpool jacket in the Anfield stands on Saturday.

The 22-year-old, currently on a season-long loan at Bournemouth, was ineligible to play against his parent club in the 2-1 defeat.

But the Wales international caused a stir when he was spotted in the stands wearing a coat with Liverpool's crest on, suggesting where his loyalty lie for the fixture.

Liverpool fans loved it, but Bournemouth fans were not happy with Wilson's decision.

Wilson elected to comment on the situation, stating that he was simply given a jacket after being cold.

"I'm aware TV footage of me in an LFC coat has angered a few people," Wilson wrote.

"Honestly, it was nothing more than I was cold and a member of the LFC staff offered me a jacket in a moment I couldn't disturb the Bournemouth guys working the game.

"Can't wait for next Saturday to be back playing."

Wilson has been hugely impressive for the Cherries this season, scoring seven goals in the 23 Premier League appearances he has made for Eddie Howe's side.

He's in his fourth loan spell away from Liverpool and when the season is done and dusted, Wilson is well aware he has a tough call to make.

"I feel I've got that decision to make in the summer. I feel my last two years of loans have been good." he told BT Sport prior to the game on Saturday.

"This one's been positive for me as well. I'm finally in the Premier League, which is what I've worked towards.

"In the summer, I'll be concentrating on Wales but once that's done with, I feel I may have a decision to make."
