JAIPUR: Under the PM Street Vendor’s Atma Nirbhar Nidhi, now the street vendors, who have lost their businesses during the lockdown period, can apply for loans online.
The vendors can apply through PMSVANidhi portal (pmsvanidhi.mohua.gov.in), e-mitra, common service centres (CSCs) and through the counters set up by city livelihoods centre (CLCs).
A street vendor can call CLC’s contact number: 0141-2743336, to get information about the camp sites/counters.
The street vendors can apply for loans up Rs 10,000 to revive their livelihoods.
“To apply for this, vendors will have to submit their Aadhaar card, voter ID card and savings bank account pass book. It is also necessary for the street vendors to link their mobile numbers and bank account with Aadhaar,” stated an official statement.
“Moreover, the vendors should have been surveyed (by the state government). The street vendors, who have applied under Category C and D previously, are required to apply online for the release of letter of recommendation (LOR),” it stated.
The order further stated, “A copy of the savings bank account statement mentioning the relief amount received during Covid-19 pandemic must be furnished. A proof of being a member of vendors’ association will also have to be submitted. Apart from these, they should also give a copy of a challan, if at all issued, while doing their job.”
The scheme is fully funded by the central ministry of housing and urban affairs with the objective to facilitate working capital loan up to Rs 10,000 to incentivize regular repayment and to reward digital transaction.
The scheme will help formalize the street vendors with above objectives and will open up new opportunities to this sector to move up the economic ladder.
