Fulham have completed the loan signing of Ademola Lookman from RB Leipzig, reports Peter Rutzler.

The former Everton and Charlton Athletic winger has returned to the Premier League for the rest of the 2020-21 season.

Where will he fit in at Fulham?

Fulham are looking to reinvigorate their already ailing season and while the pursuit of a centre-half has been the priority, questions have lingered about the strength of their wide options.

The club have invested in wingers over the past two seasons but none of their current wide options have caught the eye consistently.

Anthony Knockaert's loan from Brighton was made permanent this summer for a reported fee of £15 million, a total that would seem to be excessive considering his return of five goals and three assists in the second tier, while Ivan Cavaleiro also saw his loan turned permanent for a reportedly similar fee.

In Lookman, Fulham will hope they can add some flair to their frontline, and potentially take some of the attacking onus off the already-burdened Aleksandar Mitrovic.

How important a signing is this for Scott Parker?

It's not the priority for Parker, although he has spoken extensively about wanting to improve squad competition and bring in players of a quality that "help the team evolve".

Lookman, of course, feels a little bit more raw and perhaps fits into the mould of players the club already have; someone with a point to prove at this level.

Fulham are well-stocked in wide areas, with Aboubakar Kamara, Neeskens Kebano, Cavaleiro and Knockaert all on the books.

But he is also a talented player who won considerable admirers when he first broke onto the scene.

If Parker can get a tune out of him consistently, then Fulham will feel he is a key recruit.

What does this mean for Fulham's existing wingers?

That is unclear. Knockaert has not featured in the Premier League as yet, making two starts in the Carabao Cup. He was linked with a move to Cardiff although that was quickly quashed.

Keeping all those players happy will be a challenge for Parker, not least the ones who have just turned their loan stays permanent.

Why are RB Leipzig letting him leave?

Lookman burst onto the scene at Leipzig, scoring five goals in his first 11 games and sending a message to parent club Everton about who they were letting go.

But he has struggled to make an impact since that move became permanent, falling down the pecking order behind the likes of Emil Forsberg and Marcel Sabitzer.

He made 13 appearances in total last year, spending 27 further games unused on the substitutes bench.

Will Fulham do much more business this window?

Almost certainly. The clamour for a new centre-back reached new heights following the defeat by Aston Villa, when director of football operations Tony Khan took to Twitter to apologise for the team's performance and inability to recruit a central defender.

Parker has referenced the need to strengthen in that area repeatedly and although time is running out, it feels certain that a new defensive player will be signed.

If not, then it could well be a long season for Fulham.
