Two jockeys involved in horror fall on Scone Cup day
Apprentice jockey Jenny Duggan was transported to John Hunter Hospital after a nasty fall that also brought down Hall of Fame hoop Robert Thompson.
Thompson was able to walk back to the jockeys' room, while Duggan was taken to hospital with a suspected broken shoulder and heel, according to the Daily Telegraph's Matt Jones.
Duggan was riding the Cody Morgan-trained Steamboat Sally when she speared into the turf at the top of the home straight, with veteran hoop Thompson also unseated after his mount Tombolo (Rodney Northam) got caught up in the incident.Jenny Duggan has not been airlifted to John Hunter Hospital due to a storm but is on her way in an ambulance with a suspected broken shoulder and heel. Both Tombolo and Steamboat Sally emerged largely unscathed from the fall.
Meanwhile at Toowoomba, apprentice jockey Ty Wheeler was taken to hospital after being kicked in the mounting yard while strapping a horse for master John Thomas.
Wheeler was set to make his race-riding debut at Gatton on Saturday, but that looks like being put on ice.
