Hersheypark’s 2021 season is off to a sweet start.

The amusement park announced today two new culinary experiences - Milton’s Ice Cream Parlor and The Sweeterie Confectionery Kitchen - will open April 2, the start date for the park’s 115th season.

The shops, inspired by founder Milton S. Hershey’s vision, are part of the park’s new Chocolatetown attraction, which opened last summer with the debut of roller coaster, Candymonium. Park admission is not required to visit the shops, which are located near the Hersheypark Supply Co. outside the park’s ticketing gates.

The creamery plays off Milton Hershey’s malt shop and will scoop craft custom creations from more than a dozen 100% local dairy house-made ice cream flavors, including Candymonium, Reese’s Peanut Butter, Toasted Marshmallow, Graham Coaster Station, and Malted Memories, according to a press release.

Milton's Ice Cream Parlor will carry craft custom creations from more than a dozen 100% local dairy house-made ice cream flavors, including Candymonium, Reese's Peanut Butter, Toasted Marshmallow, Graham Coaster Station, and Malted Memories.

Other options include warm ice cream sandwiches, milkshakes, ice cream floats or King Size Sundaes served in a souvenir Hersheypark dish with five scoops of ice cream, confetti cake, unlimited toppings, fresh whipped cream and a cherry.

The shop also will serve house-made potato chips, buckets of fries and chicken bites in Hersheypark souvenir buckets served with a choice of dipping sauces like beer cheese, smokehouse BBQ, chocolate mole and garlic parmesan. The menu extends to signature grilled cheese with parmesan-crusted sourdough bread and chicken and waffles.

The Sweeterie, a scratch confectionary kitchen, will carry dozens of sweets such as Comet coaster bars, Kissing Tower mousse cake and Chocolatetown cheesecake, among a curated collection of confections including fudge.

In May, the shops will be joined by The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio on Memorial Day Weekend. Touted as Hershey’s largest restaurant, The Chocolatier is decorated with old and new pieces from Hersheypark’s ride collection with views of attractions and a second-story patio with a bar.

With the spring season approaching, Hersheypark is hiring for a variety of positions throughout the park, including the new food establishments.
