“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” is reportedly getting a reboot from a sitcom to a drama called “Bell-Air.”
Deadline reported that “Bel-Air” will be “an hourlong series based on Morgan Cooper’s popular fan film that reenvisions the 1990s Will Smith sitcom as a drama. The project, from Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s Westbrook Studios and Universal Television, is currently being pitched ... "
According to Deadline, the show will be directed by Cooper, and co-written by Cooper and Chris Collins.

With a reimagined vision, ‘Bel-Air’ will dive deeper into the inherent conflicts, emotions and biases that were impossible to fully explore in a 30-minute sitcom format, while still delivering swagger and fun nods to the original show.”
According to Deadline, Cooper’s short film was released in March 2019 has received almost 8 million views in two YouTube posts and received praise, including from Will Smith who said, “That’s an idea that is brilliant."
