STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Nestlé Prepared Foods is recalling more than 762,000 pounds of frozen pepperoni hot pockets because they may be contaminated with pieces of glass and hard plastic, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

FSIS announced the recall of 762,615 pounds of the not-ready-to-eat stuffed products after the company received four consumer complaints of extraneous materials in the products, which were shipped to retail stores nationwide.

There is one report of a minor oral injury associated with consumption of this product.

The recall includes 54-ounce carton packages containing 12 “Nestlé Hot Pockets Brand Sandwiches: Premium pepperoni made with pork, chicken & beef pizza with a garlic butter crust.” The products were produced from Nov. 13 through Nov. 16, 2020, with a product shelf life of 14 months.

The products have a best-by date before February 2022, and includes lot codes 0318544624, 0319544614, 0320544614, and 0321544614. They bear establishment number “EST. 7721A” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

FSIS said it received no additional reports of injury or illness from consumption of this product. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a health care provider.

The agency is concerned some product may be frozen and in consumers’ freezers. If you have purchased this product, don’t consume it — throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.

Consumers with questions about the recall can call Nestlé consumer services at 800-350-5016.
