‘I need a home,’ woman says as Grand Rapids clears homeless encampment

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A man who is among those experiencing homelessness in Grand Rapids says the people who have been camping in Heartside Park need more help during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Coronavirus is going around rampant and the shelters are overcapacitiated [sic],” said Michael Camp, a homeless man who has been sleeping at the park. “People are really panicking.”
