DETROIT -- How long does it take to say goodbye? For legendary rock and roll band KISS, it’s going to take at least another 20 months as the band continues its farewell tour which will include another stop in Michigan.
313 Presents announced Thursday that KISS will perform at DTE Energy Music Theatre on Friday, Sept. 11, 2020. KISS last visited Michigan in March with shows in Grand Rapids and at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. The “End of the Road” tour is scheduled to end on July 21, 2021 in New York City.
“All that we have built and all that we have conquered over the past four decades could never have happened without the millions of people worldwide who’ve filled clubs, arenas and stadiums over those years. This will be the ultimate celebration for those who’ve seen us and a last chance for those who haven’t. KISS Army, we’re saying goodbye on our final tour with our biggest show yet and we’ll go out the same way we came in... Unapologetic and Unstoppable,” said KISS in a statement.
KISS has a special connection with the Michigan area as several major moments in the band’s history took place in the state. Among them include the recording of the “Alive” record at Cobo Hall and of course when the city of Cadillac was taken over by the band.
The band has announced shows through October 2020 meaning the band may still return to Michigan again after the show in September.
Tickets for the DTE show go on sale to the public on Friday, Nov. 22 at 10 a.m. Presale tickets will go on sale to KISS Army members and Citi bank credit card members on Wednesday. Special meet and greet tickets go on sale Tuesday on the KISS website. Tickets start at $39.50 for lawn seats.
