Baltimore Ravens second-year cornerback Iman Marshall suffered a significant knee injury over the weekend that will require season-ending knee surgery, coach John Harbaugh said.

Harbaugh provided updates on four Ravens who missed Monday’s practice and said Marshall was the only player who suffered a major injury. The Ravens believe Marshall tore his ACL and MCL, according to the coach.

Marshall, a fourth-round pick in 2019, appeared in three games for Baltimore last season and hoped to earn a bigger role in a talented secondary this season.

“He had been working hard and was practicing well and just came down on his right leg really awkwardly and is going to need major surgery,” Harbaugh said.

Marshall on Monday sent a tweet that read: “Can’t dwell on what already happened just have to keep pushing with God and faith by my side.”

Defensive tackle Brandon Williams and outside linebacker Jaylon Ferguson, two returning starters in the front seven, missed practice Monday but should be back on field soon. Harbaugh referred to their injuries as “normal training camp-type stuff.”

Wide receiver Chris Moore was also absent from practice after breaking a finger last week, Harbaugh said. Moore, a top special teams contributor, played through the same injury last season and isn’t in danger of missing regular-season action because of it.

“Chris knows how to deal with that,” Harbaugh said. “He’ll be fine, but it’ll be a few weeks until that bone heals.”
