SAGINAW, MI — The Catholic Diocese of Saginaw has banned the use of music composed by a Saginaw-area native renowned for liturgical songs such as “We Are Called” and “Blest Are They.”

On Wednesday, Oct. 7, the Saginaw Diocese confirmed it has joined some other dioceses nationwide, including the Gaylord Diocese in northern Michigan, in ceasing to play David R. Haas' works. The Bridgeport native is accused of sexually abusing women, though he has not been charged with any wrongdoing.
