The Philadelphia Eagles lost another offensive lineman for the season in Sunday’s 24-21 win over the New Orleans Saints, according to a report.

Rookie Jack Driscoll, who started at right tackle and played all 69 offensive snaps, suffered a medial collateral ligament (MCL) sprain that will sideline him for the rest of the year, NFL Media reported Tuesday morning.

“#Eagles RT Jack Driscoll will miss the rest of the season with a significant MCL sprain, sources say,” NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo tweeted. “The rookie toughed it out to finish the game against the #Saints but further testing showed the full extent of the injury. Tough one for him and the team. He was playing well.”

Driscoll, 23, was a fourth-round pick out of Auburn in the 2020 NFL Draft. He missed time earlier this year with an ankle injury, but he appeared in 11 games and made four starts at right tackle in his first NFL season. He played 300 offensive snaps. When right tackle Lane Johnson’s season ended in November because of ankle issues, Driscoll had the chance to step in and showcase his development.

Unfortunately, that chance will not last. Driscoll appeared to play well in his first NFL action this season.

Driscoll will be the fifth Eagles offensive lineman to suffer a season-ending injury this season. Left tackle Andre Dillard (biceps), left tackle/right guard Jason Peters (toe), guard Sua Opeta (back) and Johnson are on injured reserve. Right guard Brandon Brooks (Achilles) is on the physically unable to perform list.

For what it’s worth, left guard Isaac Seumalo (knee) missed seven games on injured reserve earlier this season, too.

Third-year pro Matt Pryor seems like the most likely candidate to replace Driscoll at right tackle, which would give the Eagles their 13th different offensive line combination in 14 games this season. The Eagles also have tackle Brett Toth on their roster and rookie tackle Prince Tega Wanogho on their practice squad, but neither player seems likely to see time except in an emergency.

Center Jason Kelce is the only Eagles offensive lineman — and Eagles offensive lineman — to start every game this season.

The Eagles announced they agreed to sign offensive lineman Ross Pierschbacher from the Washington Football Team practice squad Monday. Pierschbacher is a second-year pro who has never taken an offensive snap in an NFL game, but he started 42 games at left guard and 15 games at center during his career at Alabama.

The Eagles face the Cardinals in Arizona on Sunday in Week 15.
