Pa. breweries join forces for PA Pride Pale Ale, which will be released with online happy hour

PA Pride Pale Ale

PA Pride Pale Ale is a new beer released by a collaboration of several breweries in Pensnylvania.

Several Pennsylvania breweries have teamed up to create a new beer that celebrates the state.

Deer Creek Malthouse in Glen Mills regularly holds a Malt-A-Palooza harvest festival, but this year’s annual event can’t go forward as usual due to COVID-19. Instead, the Deer Creek team partnered with Breweries In Pa and several of the state’s breweries to host an online happy hour event, complete with a newly crafted beer release: the PA Pride Pale Ale.

The new PA Pride is a hazy pale ale made entirely with Pennsylvania-grown and malted grain, and designed as a sessionable beer with “notes of toasty crisps, petit cakes, hard tangerine candies, lemon verbena tea, and orange creamsicle pops,” according to the press release.

PA Pride Pale Ale’s debut will coincide with the virtual happy hour, organized by participating breweries including Deer Creek Malthouse, Broken Goblet Brewing, Clarion River Brewing, Newtown Brewing, Noble Stein, Shy Bear, Stone Bridge and Beaver Brewing, among others. The event will be held on November 5 from 6-7 p.m., and will include a beer tasting and panel discussion about how to make a more inclusive and sustainable food system.

PA Pride will be available in 16 ounce cans at all participating breweries. For more details, visit the Deer Creek Malthouse website.
