Embrace Home Loans in Viera To Sponsor Sharing Center’s Amateur Backyard Barbecue Contest

Embrace Home Loans in Viera will sponsor The Sharing Center of Central Brevard’s Third Annual Amateur Backyard Barbecue Contest on April 7 at F. Burton Smith Park in Cocoa, Florida.

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Embrace Home Loans in Viera will sponsor The Sharing Center of Central Brevard’s Third Annual Amateur Backyard Barbecue Contest on April 7 at F. Burton Smith Park in Cocoa, Florida.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Children’s Weekend Feeding Program – a program designed to empower families with children by providing access to healthy food on the weekends while school is in session.

The event will support struggling families with children who deal with hunger on a daily basis.

Embrace Home Loans also recently sponsored and participated in the second annual Fight Child Hunger 5k with proceeds benefiting The Central Brevard Sharing Center and The Children’s Hunger Project.

The race took place on Saturday, Jan. 13 at Viera High School in Viera, Florida. With almost 400 runners, the 5k was a huge success bringing more awareness to this important issue.

EMBRACE HOME LOANS’ Stephen Thaggard and his wife Karen are both seasoned mortgage veterans. Stephen is the Sales Manager for Embrace’s Viera, Florida office and Karen is a Senior Loan Officer.

Embrace volunteers and participants at the event were led by Viera branch manager, Stephen Thaggard.

“Through Embrace Home Loans’ backing, The Children’s Hunger Project will be able to feed an additional 133 local children in 2018, and fewer children will go hungry on the Space Coast,” said Thaggard.

“At Embrace Home Loans, we are committed to helping those in our community, and we couldn’t think of a better way to exemplify that than to sponsor and participate in the Fight Child Hunger 5k.

“It’s probably difficult for many of us to imagine that kids are going hungry right here in our own community, but the sad truth is that it’s happening. We were thrilled we got to be a part of such an inspirational and powerful event.”

The Viera, Florida, branch of Embrace Home Loans is also currently collecting donations in support of The Sharing Center of Central Brevard. Suggested donations include nonperishable foods, clothing, shoes, books, toys, games, kitchenware, small appliances, home goods and personal hygiene products.

All donations can be dropped off during business hours at Embrace Home Loans, located at 5500 Murrell Road, Suite 201, in Viera, now through April 6.
