It's been nearly one month since beauty YouTuber Jaclyn Hill deleted her social media and went silent. Amid the drama of her Jaclyn Cosmetics lipstick launch, she disappeared from social media, posting an apology video, and then reportedly taking some time off. Now she has returned, posting a new YouTube video that addresses her absence.

While Jaclyn has now reactivated her Instagram account but not her Twitter, the nearly 20-minute video explains why she chose to stay off of social media. As E! reports, she begins the video with a confession, saying, "I feel very uncomfortable right now. I'm terrified... I'm terrified of just everything."

Jaclyn goes on to admit that the launch of her lipsticks was a "failure." In case you missed it, here's what went down: On May 30, Jaclyn launched a line of nude lipsticks. After the release, numerous customers came forward to allege that their lipsticks contained discrepancies, with some reporting alleged hair and bubbles in their product; Jaclyn later addressed this in a statement, telling customers it was a manufacturing error. She, along with the Jaclyn Cosmetics company, assured customers that the lipsticks were still safe to use, and customers were offered refunds for the products, if they reached out.

Then on June 24, it was announced that every customer who purchased the lipstick was receiving a refund. "I’m going to be issuing a full refund, including shipping and tax, to every single customer, from Jaclyn Cosmetics,” Jaclyn said on her Instagram account. “I don’t care about the loss of this money. You know how embarrassing this is for me. I will do everything in my power to make this right moving forward and learn from this lesson God has given me.”

After announcing the refund, Jaclyn deleted her social media, and she explained in the new video that she did so purposefully. "I got into this place where I was so clouded and unable to rebuild my brand, unable to figure out what's going on, and I knew in order to get right, in order to make my brand right, I need to get me right," she said. "I was just like, 'I can't do this...I need to focus.'"

She admits that she was "embarrassed" by the launch and apologized again to customers. She also revealed that does not intend to work with the same lab, and that any and all of her future ideas for makeup are on hold. There's no telling when she might return fully to social media, but the beauty community is sure to keep watch, as her video includes a promise to followers that a new makeup tutorial will be arriving soon.
