A paedophile who used his neighbour's WiFi to download sick images and a woman who left her children in a house full of drugs to go out making knife threats were just some of the people jailed in our region so far this month.
Other Lancashire criminals put behind bars include a man who raped a woman who was kind enough to give him shelter from the rain and a killer who murdered a doctor and her daughter before setting fire to their bodies at their home.

Six more members of a notorious drugs gang were also locked up while a woman who stabbed a man in the head at his house before carving an 'L' into his chest have also been jailed.
In some cases, lengthy trials have been held in front of juries, while in others the criminals have pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity.
But in all cases a judge has decided their crimes are so serious only a custodial sentence will suffice.

Christopher Meade
A man found with more than 30,000 photos and videos of children has been jailed.
Christopher Meade, 39, from Burnley was sentenced to three years imprisonment after police found thousands of images and videos involving children being sexually abused.
Preston Crown Court heard today that the defendant was discovered after the police traced the address of a neighbour living opposite to Meade.
The court heard that the defendant had collated all of the indecent images and videos over a span of seven year from November 2012 to June 2019 using his neighbour's Wifi.
Gratas Mitkus, Mantas Vitkus and Liudvitkas Luksys
A masked gang who bundled a terrified man into a car at a supermarket have been jailed.
Police were called to the Tesco Superstore in Blackburn at 12.20pm on March 5 after receiving a number of calls from horrified onlookers who had seen the victim being taken against his will.
CCTV showed the man in his 20s drive into the carpark in Hill Street in a Skoda Octavia and walk towards the trolley shelter with a second man.
Gratas Mitkus, Mantas Vitkus and Liudvitkas Luksys then detained the victim and took him back to his Skoda, before driving off.
All three were arrested on the M62 at 7pm.
Liudikas, 25, of no fixed address, Mitkus, 25, of no fixed address, and Viktus, 26, of Holland Street, Hull, were charged with kidnap and affray.
All three pleaded guilty to affray and were sentenced at Preston Crown Court earlier this week.
Liudukas and Vitkus were jailed for 15 months and Mitkus received 17 months custody.
Danielle Orrell
33-year-old Danielle Orrell had been growing cannabis in a tent in her bedroom. This was along with cocaine and amphetamines found in her kitchen.
It was on June 24 last year that she set her sights on a property home to Colin Maudsley and his partner.
Banging on their door at around 5.50am, Orrell began shouting outside of their home.
Mr Maudsley investigated what was happening only to see a knife being pushed through his letterbox. He called the police who arrived and found Orrell and another man outside the property.
Officers were concerned about her children, who were being looked after by a teenage babysitter, and went to the house. There was a strong smell of cannabis so they searched the premises and discovered the cannabis grow in Orrell’s bedroom.
In the kitchen was 12.8g of amphetamine, 1.2g of cocaine and 74.3g of cannabis and £240 cash, hidden in a cereal box.
Orrell, of Cresswell Avenue, Ingol, admitted allowing her home to be used to store drugs and pleaded guilty to possession of class A drugs, possession of class B, production of class B and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
She was jailed for eight months.
Mohammed Waqas Ali
A 'despicable and remorseless' man who raped a woman and subjected her to significant verbal abuse has been jailed.
Mohammed Waqas Ali was found guilty after a three-week trial at Burnley Crown Court after 'forcing his victim to re-live what he had done to her'
The jury heard how the 33-year-old raped the woman in Nelson and subjected her to physical and verbal abuse.
Such was the impact of Ali’s behaviour on her, the victim attempted to take her own life.
Ali, now of no fixed address but formerly of Raven Street, Nelson and locked up for 13 years and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Craig Schurok and Aidan Stilwell
These are the faces of the cowardly robbers who were chased out of a convenience store with a cricket bat by a courageous shopkeeper.
Craig Schurok, 39, (above) and Aidan Stilwell, 36, (below) met their match when they tried to rob the shop in Accrington Road, Burnley, on September 13.
Armed with a knife and a hammer, the pair began smashing up the counter as they made their way to the till.
But shopkeeper Mohammed Umar "was not having any of it" and chased them out of the store.
Stillwell, of Shakespeare Road, Preston, and Schurok, of no fixed address, were found hiding in a house, just 100 yards away from the robbery, after witnesses pointed out where they had gone.
The spineless duo were jailed for five years each at Preston Crown Court last week.
Matthew Cawston
A rapist who attacked a woman in her own bed while her child slept in the next room has been sentenced to 10 and a half years.
Matthew Cawston, 27, knew the woman and had called at her home to help with a domestic emergency.
But when the job was finished he said he did not want to cycle home in the rain and asked to stay the night.
She agreed he could stay on the sofa, but made it very clear she did not want to have sex with him, Paul Treble, prosecuting, told Preston Crown Court.
He later raped her as she slept.
Cawston, of Hoyle Close, Blackpool, was arrested and insisted he had never had sex with the woman without her consent.
However he later pleaded guilty to rape.
He sobbed as he was led to the cells to begin his sentence.
Adrian Palmer
A drunk driver who drove at a police officer when he was told to stop has been jailed for 10 months.
Adrian Palmer, 43, was banned from the road when officers heard him revving the engine of an Audi S3 outside the Victoria Pub in Sudell Street, Darwen.
Palmer, of Railway View, Darwen, has 12 previous convictions for drink driving, 13 for driving while banned and has previously been to prison for dangerous driving.
Sentencing him at Preston Crown Court, Recorder Daniel Prowse said he had "an appalling record" as he set out the latest incident - which saw a police officer leap out of the path of Palmer's oncoming vehicle to avoid being hit.
Yakub Thompson
A thug who launched a sickening attack on a dad in the street just yards away from the victim's terrified young stepson has been jailed.
Yakub Thompson, from Westhoughton, assaulted the victim in October 2018 and he was left with wounds to his face and shoulder and also had to have a tooth removed, a court heard.
Lee, of Longfield Road, Deane was jailed for two-and-half years in January 2020, after pleading guilty to the attack and separate robbery.
Rachael Love
A woman who stabbed a man in the head at his house in Blackburn has been jailed for six years and three months.
Rachael Love, 26, “could have killed” the man when she tried to rob him in his own home, with a 20cm blade.
The victim, who was known to Love, thought she was joking when she walked into his kitchen with the weapon and said: “I’ll f****** kill you, I’ll f****** stab you.”
He tried to get the knife from her, but Love switched hands and stabbed him.
Anthony McKenna
This is the man who left an eight-year-old boy for dead after 'catapulting him in the air' in a hit and run collision in Bacup.
Banned driver Anthony McKenna, of Newchurch Road, was driving his mum's BMW without her permission when he ploughed into the little boy, sending him flying from his scooter.
The boy was left unconscious in the road with his mum screaming for help as McKenna drove away from the scene in Newchurch Road on June 24.
As a result of his injures the boy will suffer cognitive and behavioural problems with his development after sustaining severe head injuries.
Police have now released an image of McKenna as he begins a 24 month sentence for causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Martin Sweener and Jamie Wilding
Two bikers who tampered with key evidence following the death of a friend before police arrived at the crash scene have been jailed.
Martin Sweeney and Jamie Wilding were convicted of dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice at Preston Crown Court and were "clearly intent on covering their tracks and attempting to dispose of evidence vital to the police investigation".
Police were called at around 3.45pm on October 20, 2018, to reports of a collision on Lancaster Road between the villages of Pilling and Cockerham.
John Rhodes, from Fleetwood, lost control of his motorbike and left the road, colliding with a grass verge, before coming to stop in a field.
The 42-year-old suffered serious injuries and died the next day at Royal Preston Hospital.
Police said all three men "were riding together and at grossly excessive speeds" and witnesses described their speeds as "like on a racetrack or travelling like a jet".
Sweeney, of Eversleigh Avenue, Thornton, was given six months imprisonment for dangerous driving and 27 months imprisonment for perverting the course of justice to run consecutively. He was disqualified from driving for four years and three months. He is required to take an extended re-test.
Wilding, of Goldsboro Avenue, Blackpool, was given six months imprisonment for dangerous driving and 21 months imprisonment for perverting the course of justice to run consecutively. He was disqualified from driving for four years and 11 months. He is also required to take an extended re-test.
In addition to this the police were given authority for a forfeiture order for both motorcycles to be destroyed at the conclusion of the investigation.
Suhail Mitha
A man who robbed two Blackburn taxi drivers at knifepoint was caught after his victim entered his phone number into WhatsApp and found his profile picture.
Suhail Mitha, 30, held up cabs on January 31 and February 8, demanding cash and the drivers’ mobile phones.
Mitha has been jailed for 45 months after pleading guilty to robbery and possession of a bladed article.
Judge Simon Medland QC said: “This is a very marked contrast to your upbringing.”
In the first robbery, Mitha, of no fixed address, used an incapacity spray to attack the driver, before pulling out a small pocket knife.
He then drove away in the taxi when the driver got out to apprehend him.
In the second robbery, Mitha produced a 12 inch kitchen knife and held it to his victim’s throat, demanding the cash bag and the driver’s mobile phone.
But on February 8 a colleague of the first victim entered the phone number, used to book the cab, into WhatsApp and pulled up Mitha’s profile picture.
The image, along with the phone number and booking details were passed to the police and Mitha was caught.
Colin Curran
Catfish Colin Curran stole the profiles of young men from Snapchat and used them to groom four teenage girls.
Curran, 48, kept a special ‘catfishing phone’ which he used for his sordid and illegal activity.
In July 2020 the mother of one of Curran’s victim’s noticed a change in her daughter’s behaviour and checked her iPad.
She discovered the 15-year-old was being groomed online and contacted the police.
Investigations led officers to Curran, and officers searched his electronic equipment.
They found he had used his own identity and two aliases, of boys aged 17 and 18, to contact four girls, aged 15.
He also met one of the girls on three separate occasions - although they only “ate pizza and watched TV”, Charles Brown, prosecuting, told the court.
During his conversations with the girls, Curran encouraged them to record sexual videos and photographs which he stored on his phone.
Further investigations showed he had been viewing indecent images of children since 2015 but had escalated to contacting the victims in 2017.
Curran, of Powder Works Lane, Melling, pleaded guilty to 23 counts of engaging in sexual communication with a child and making indecent images.
Judge Simon Medland QC sentenced him to six years in prison.
Patricia Dean
A nurse who ordered workers at a car wash to scrub her Mercedes clean of blood after her son blasted a love rival in the leg with a shotgun has been jailed.
Patricia Dean's son, Vincenzo De Falco, shot his victim while parked up in Rochdale on January 21 2019.
A court heard that the victim was previously in a relationship with De Falco’s girlfriend Lucy Flux, from Bacup, and the pair had been texting over the New Year period.
Dean, 59, has been jailed for 18 months after being found guilty of assisting an offender, at Bolton Crown Court.
Daniel Butler and Marina Westlund
Two people were sentenced following the death of a Preston man in Blackburn.
Nigel Scott, 58, suffered serious head injuries during an assault at an address on Clarendon Road East in the town last December. He was found unconscious at 10am on December 27.
He was taken to hospital but died the following day.
Two people were originally charged with his murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter in September this year.
Daniel Butler, 33, carried out the attack on Mr Scott which caused his fatal injuries. Marina Westlund, 26, admitted manslaughter on the basis that while she encouraged Butler to assault Nigel Scott but that she did not take part in any physical attack upon him.
Butler, of Walker Street, Preston was sentenced to 11 years in prison, with a further three years on licence.
Westlund, of Clarendon Road East, Blackburn, was sentenced to 45 months in prison.
Christopher McVeigh
A man poured turpentine over his ex-girlfriend before brandishing a lighter in front of her.
The terrified woman managed to run out of the house and jumped into a paddling pool in the garden in a bid to counter the risk of being set on fire.
From there, she was able to call her mum who alerted the police.
When interviewed, Christopher McVeigh, 39, denied having the lighter and even tried to claim that the victim had started the argument with him.
He went before Preston Crown Court to be sentenced for a charge of affray which he accepted at an earlier hearing.
He had earlier been charged with making threats to kill and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm but the Crown Prosecution Service agreed not to pursue these when he accepted causing affray.
McVeigh was told that although he had made good progress, the offence was too serious for anything other than prison and was given a 17 month sentence.
Leroy Brown
A man who threatened to kill a woman, tried to set her hair on fire and poured cold water on her during a terrifying rape ordeal has been jailed.
The 'horrific' incident happened against a victim in her 20s happened in the South Shore area of the resort in October 2018.
Leroy Brown, 31, of Albert Road, Blackpool, was found guilty of rape in August and was sentenced at Preston Crown Court.
He was jailed for 12 years and must serve eight years before he is considered for parole.
He has also been given a lifetime restraining order and a lifetime sex offender notification requirement.
Det Con James Ellis, of West CID, said: “This was an absolutely terrifying ordeal for the woman involved and I would like to commend her for her courage - she has shown incredible bravery throughout, especially while giving evidence at court.
“At no stage has Brown shown any remorse for his horrific actions and the sentence handed down reflects the gravity of his offending."
David Osbaldeston and Aaron Walsh
Two men have been jailed for a combined total of 27 years and three months following a vicious attack on a man at a pub in Accrington.
The attack happened during the afternoon of October 4, 2020, at the Royal Oak on Sparth Road, when three men entered the beer garden and began fighting with several others who were present.
Two men – David Osbaldeston, 28, of Shuttleworth Street, Rishton; and Aaron Walsh, 23, of Dill Hall Lane, Accrington – then began making threats with a knife towards the landlady’s partner, Terry Burt, after he came outside to break up the altercation.
As the offenders left the pub, Osbaldeston grabbed a brick and threw it at Mr Burt’s head. Walsh then also picked up a brick and threw it in the direction of the pub.
Mr Burt, 49, suffered a serious head wound which required stitches.
At Preston Crown Court, Osbaldeston and Walsh were also sentenced for their parts in an aggravated burglary which had occurred the day before at an address on Essex Street, Accrington.
Osbaldeston was sentenced to a total of 15 years custody and a further four years extended licence, after Recorder Nicholas Clarke QC deemed him to be a dangerous offender.
Walsh was convicted of two section 18 wounding offences and possession of a bladed article. He had also pleaded guilty to violent disorder.
He was sentenced to a custodial sentence totalling 12 years and three months.
Lynn Patricia Green
A woman who "plundered" her elderly neighbour's bank account over the Christmas period has been jailed for two years.
Lynn Patricia Green, 44, used the pensioner's bank details to set up an online banking profile and help herself to £9,170 between December 2019 and January 2020.
Her neighbour, a woman of "modest means", enjoyed treating her family and was left unable to provide for them as a result of Green's deception.
The money was never refunded by the bank and the Green's victim is unlikely to ever see it again.
Green, of Sycamore Road, Preston, pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation.
In a letter to her victim she apologised for what she had done and expressed remorse.
Sentencing her at Preston Crown Court, Recorder John Jones QC said: "Although your family will suffer by reason of your imprisonment but your victim's family will suffer in a very cruel way. "
Michael Taberner
A man who raped a woman in Blackburn has been jailed for six years.
Michael Taberner, 34, continued to sexually assault the woman even after she pleaded for him to stop and repeatedly said "no".
After the assault, Taberner texted the victim acknowledging what he had done and apologised.
When he was arrested and interviewed by police he denied any wrongdoing and said any sexual activity was consensual.
Last week at Preston Crown Court, Taberner was found guilty by a jury of two counts of rape.
As well as being given a custodial sentence, Taberner, of Valley Road, Wigan, was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Jensen McNally
An off-road biker has been locked up for pulling a 'wheelie' at his friend's funeral procession.
Jensen McNally was spotted by police officers riding the bike 'dangerously' and 'aggressively' as mourners gathered to pay their respects to tragic teenager Reece Tansey.
The 15-year-old was stabbed to death in May this year and due to his love of motorbikes, his family and friends organised for riders to accompany the cortege.
McNally was one of the bikers that was in attendance as the funeral procession passed through Bolton on May 28.
The Honorary Recorder of Bolton, Judge Martin Walsh sentenced McNally to four months in a young offenders' institution.
He also banned him from driving for three years and three months.
Jonathon Ramsbottom
A van driver who was four times over the limit for drugs knocked down and killed a cyclist, a court heard.
Jonathon Ramsbottom was hit a bicycle being ridden by Stephen White on Burnley Road in Todmorden.
Mr White, 54, from Bolton, suffered serious injuries in the collision the morning of May 9 last year and passed away in hospital a short time later.
Ramsbottom, of Heywood, was found to have 200 micrograms of Benzoylecgonine - a major metabolite of cocaine - in 100millilitres of blood.
This amount was in excess of four times the specified legal limit.
He was charged with causing death by driving without due care while unfit through drugs and appeared at Leeds Crown Court yesterday (October 11), where he pleaded guilty.
Ramsbottom, 37, was jailed for seven years.
Clare Roughley
A carer who stole £325,000 from family members, including her nan, to fund a gambling addiction has been jailed.
Clare Roughley exploited her mum, dad, nan and a disabled woman she care for using online bank accounts to get her hands on huge sums of cash to cover her addiction.
The former bank employee used her insider knowledge to "systematically, ruthlessly and remorselessly extract every last penny" from their accounts, a judge said.
The mum-of-two, from St Helens, took advantage of some of her closest loved ones, secretly setting up online access to her mum, dad and nan's bank accounts so she could withdraw cash whenever she wanted.
Roughley, of Newfields in St Helens, admitted four counts of theft and one count of fraud.
She was sentenced to a total of six years in jail and made the subject of restraining orders designed to protect her victims.
Michael Fearnley
A thug who punched a woman 11 times before smashing her head against a kerb has been jailed.
Michael Fearnley, from Skelmersdale, blamed his shocking violence on the effect of drinking up to 10 pints while on a high dose of medication.
The 51-year-old left victim Deborah Knapper - who has since quit her job because of anxiety - with fractures to her nose and face.
He was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a trial in July and was today sentenced to four years in prison.
Darwen drug gang
Six more members of a gang which forced children who bought drugs to pay off debts by dealing have been sentenced.
Lancashire Police said the gang, based in Darwen, supplied drugs "on a commercial scale" into the North West.
The gang’s head Usman Akhter controlled a "sophisticated network" bringing hundreds of kilos of cocaine and cannabis into the region.
He enjoyed a lavish lifestyle in Marbella and was jailed last month for 13 years along with other members of the gang.

Jack Beeke, 28, of Church Terrace, Darwen. Conspiracy to produce and supply cannabis. Two years suspended
Mark Jeal, 37, of Pilmuir Road, Blackburn. Conspiracy to supply cannabis. Two years suspended
Clare Lester, 25, of Duckworth Street, Darwen. Allowing premises to be used for the production of cannabis. Community Order
Mark Hopwood, 29, of Shepherd’s Close, Ellesmere Port. Conspiracy to import and supply cannabis. Five years.
Judy Chapman
A woman who provided transport for a botched drive-by shooting which led to the death of student Aya Hachem has been jailed for 15 years.
Aya, 19, was caught in the crossfire of a plot to shoot Pasha Khan, the proprietor of Quickshine Tyres in Blackburn on May 17 last year.
The law student, who had dreams of becoming a solicitor was "in the wrong place at the wrong time" when she was hit by a bullet as she walked to a local shop.
Seven men have been jailed for her murder.
Judy Chapman was jailed for 15 years after being convicted of manslaughter for her role in the conspiracy.
Daniel Scott McLaughlin
A man who "used parked cars as a weapon" as he assaulted his partner in Blackpool has been jailed for six months.
Daniel Scott McLaughlin's own son was inside one of the vehicles as he smashed the child's mother's head against the vehicle in a jealous rage, Preston Crown Court heard.
It was on August 28, 2019, that 28-year-old McLaughlin set upon his partner after hearing her talking about seeing another man.
He poked her in the eye before grabbing her by the back of her neck and hitting her head against a parked car. He then dragged her by the hair before hitting her head against her own car, where their son was sitting.
The woman suffered a broken finger, bruises to her head and knee and a head injury which required glue to fix it.
McLaughlin, of HMP Lancaster Farms, pleaded guilty to ABH.
Damen Kershaw
A shop robber who 'thought he was too clever to be caught' was rumbled after revealing a 'distinctive crucifix tattoo' when fleeing the scene.
Damen Kershaw threatened a lone female member of staff at M.R. Foods in Ormerod Street, Accrington, and escaped with a quantity of cash.
CCTV footage of the 'shocking, pre-planned and cowardly offence' was released by Lancashire Police after he was jailed.
Kershaw, 33, now of no fixed address but formerly of Lydia Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to robbery.
He was jailed for three years and nine months.
Shahbaz Khan
A handyman who murdered a doctor and her daughter before setting fire to their bodies at their home in Reedley has been jailed for life.
Shahbaz Khan, 50, was a trusted friend to Dr Saman Mir Sacharvi and her daughter Vian Mangrio, 14, when he strangled them and set fire to their bodies at their home in Colne Road, Burnley.
Preston Crown Court heard Khan, of Ribble Avenue, helped out with odd jobs at the flat while Dr Saman’s husband was away in Pakistan, in the summer of 2020.
The women trusted him in their home and gave him a key to let himself in when they were at work or school.
But on September 30 2020, Khan killed Dr Saman and Vian to steal valuable gold jewellery belonging to the doctor.
Handing down a sentence of life, with a minimum term of 34 years, Mr Justice Goss, said: “These were premeditated, callous, merciless murders of a devoted mother and her young and loving teenage daughter.”
Prolific Blackburn and Burnley burglar who left 'trail of misery'
A prolific burglar who targeted homes across Blackburn and Burnley has been jailed.
John Walker left 'a trail of misery behind him' after raiding houses in the early evenings and stealing jewellery and personal possessions.
The 30-year-old has been sentenced at Preston Crown Court to a total of eight years imprisonment.
Lancashire Police said a 'complex investigation' recovered CCTV footage of the suspect in the vicinity of the offences.
He was quickly identified as Walker who has numerous previous convictions for house burglary.
Walker had fled to Lancashire from Merseyside after being recalled to prison on a previous sentence for burglary.
He was eventually located and charged for the burglaries in January this year.
Christopher Grant
A man who remortgaged his partner's house without her permission has been jailed for fraud.
Christopher Grant, 42, ran up £126,000 of debt in the woman's name including payday loans, credit cards and a mortgage on the Blackpool home she owned outright.
At one point Grant even impersonated the mum-of-one to fraudulently claim tax credits.
His partner Jodie Davis was left "fending off bailiffs" and was warned she could go to prison if she did not pay back what was owed.
She feared her home, which she inherited in 2012, would be repossessed and she and her daughter would be homeless.
Grant, of Lockgate place, Wigan, has been jailed for 40 months after pleading guilty to fraud by false representation and theft.
Judge Heather Lloyd, sentencing, said Grant's explanation of what he had done was "breathtakingly arrogant and completely lacking in remorse."
Chris Morris
A child rapist flouted his sex offenders register requirements by repeatedly staying overnight at addresses with children.
Chris Morris, 49, was locked up after deceiving a woman he met online by hiding his evil history and lying to probation and police about what he was doing after his release from prison.
Morris, of HMP Preston, had been given a 12 year sentence in 2006 for offences which included rape and multiple sexual assaults on girls aged under 13. He was then required to notify police of any time he spent more than 12 hours in the company of an under 18 or spent seven days out of a year at an address other than his own.
But the paedophile entered a long-term relationship with a woman who did not know this history and regularly stayed at the West Lancashire home she shared with her daughter.
He also went on a foreign holiday with the pair and a friend of the girl’s, stayed in a UK hotel with them and a different friend and was present when other children also stayed over.
In total, eight children aging from toddlers to teenagers were affected by Morris breaching his requirements.
Lynn Patricia Green
A woman who "plundered" her elderly neighbour's bank account over the Christmas period has been jailed for two years.
Lynn Patricia Green, 44, used the pensioner's bank details to set up an online banking profile and help herself to £9,170 between December 2019 and January 2020.
Her neighbour, a woman of "modest means", enjoyed treating her family and was left unable to provide for them as a result of Green's deception.
The money was never refunded by the bank and the Green's victim is unlikely to ever see it again.
Adam Soothill
A former hospital worker has been jailed for 30 months after being convicted of sexually assaulting a number of women.
Adam Soothill, a former nurse at Royal Preston Hospital, was found guilty of 24 counts of sexual assault on females following a trial at Preston Crown Court.
The convictions relate to nine women who came forward to say they had been molested by Soothill between 2017 and 2019.
One woman described breaking down in tears as she told her partner about the incident.
Another described the man laughing after he had sexually assaulted her.
Kieron McKillop
A paramedic was showered with glass when a man threw a brick at the windscreen of an ambulance in Blackburn.
The same day, Kieron McKillop, 29, threw a brick at a second ambulance, damaging the side of the vehicle and leaving the driver in shock.
When asked who was going to pay for the damage, McKillop replied: “Me. That’s attempted murder what I’ve done.”
However he was charged with a lesser offence of causing a danger to road users.
McKillop was jailed for three years at Preston Crown Court after Judge Sara Dodd, sentencing, said he “poses a risk to the public, especially emergency workers.”
