AEW star Abandon was reported to have suffered a serious injury during the filming of her match against former NXT performer Tay Conti this week. The set, which was being taped for next Wednesday's Dynamite, had to be called off.

The injury prompted some worry, with folks in the dark as to her condition following the accidental blow. Wrestling Observer Radio's Dave Meltzer has since made certain revelations regarding the injury (via Wrestle Talk).

Abandon is said to have been hit with an elbow in the throat during the taping and was unable to breathe thereafter. The match was stopped immediately once it was understood that Abandon was hurt. She was taken to the hospital to be evaluated and is expected to make a full recovery, fortunately.

Indeed Thankful

This could have been a lot worse so Abandon is pretty lucky not to be facing more difficulty and that she couldn't breathe must have been pretty scary. It's hoped she will be back on Dynamite soon but her match with Conti is unlikely to be aired given the circumstances.

Fans might not see any of AEW's women go at it in next week's episode of Dynamite based on the spoilers which have been leaked.

We at TheSportster wish Abandon a speedy recovery and are thankful to know she will be alright after what was seemingly a potentially fatal blow.
